This is an English translation of the earliest Latin commentary on the Gospels. It was written by Fortunatianus, bishop of Aquileia in the middle of the fourth century. For over a millennium the commentary was believed to have been lost, but was rediscovered in 2012 by Lukas Dorfbauer. This translation is the first to use Dorfbauer’s critical edition in the CSEL series.
